As data was collected among worshippers in the Christian religious communities on salvation, eighty percent (80%) believed that salvation, can be obtained through righteous living. According to this view, although a person comes into a relationship with God by believing in Christ, any subsequent sin that is not confessed and forgiven results in the loss of that person's salvation. This is wrong gospel and not scriptural.
This perception is of the Devil. After Adam fell into disobedience, he believed he could take control of his spiritual life and restore his relationship with God through the use of fig leaves. Adam and Eve took the issue of disobedience lightly and assumed it could be solved by covering themselves with fig leaves without addressing the root of the problem.
" .... and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons. " (Genesis 3:7).
This act of Adam and Eve sewing fig leaves after the fall is a kind or type of religion founded based on human deeds and not on faith. This is widely scattered everywhere on the surface of the earth, this time through the law, mission tenets and rules, trying to solve sin problems. However, the problem of sin can be resolved through the Word of God. Nevertheless, after Adam fell into sin, so did all of mankind. Not only did man become sinful, he now has a great emptiness that can only be filled by Christ alone. Through sin human beings became carnal and spiritually dead. “ " But of the tree of knowledge and evil, the day thou eat thereof thou shall surely die." As a dead being, what's required? It is burial or resurrection, not rehabilitation of your corpse. However, no works of man, no matter how good or righteous can never bridge the gap to resolve sin.
Many people talks a lot about God's mercy, grace and truth but in practice prioritises human deeds. They further profess that the failure to meet the requirements of the law will result in the loss of salvation. Church traditions and tenets overtake scriptures. This legalistic gospel built on human deeds is termed by Paul “ other gospel”. The Apostle Paul in the Book of Galatians 1:8 stated that “ But though we or an angel from Heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you , let him be accursed " .
