God's Spirit gives gifts to believers to enable them to serve the Lord, and His gifts are never useless. As Christians becomes aware of the way in which God has gifted them,the appropriate response is to use those gifts with an attitude of thankfulness for the good of the church and the glory of the Lord.
As stated in previous writings in this series, the moment a person receives salvation, he is indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is something different.Sometimes the Spirit's leading brings surprises. In Acts 16:6–10, Paul and his companions thought they knew where they were going, but the Holy Spirit redirected them. They probably experienced temporary frustration until they discovered that God had prepared a different opportunity for them. Once we understand God's purpose and move beyond those frustrations, the leading of the Spirit is always encouraging.
One of the brief yet compelling pictures of the early church is found in Acts 9:31, which describes the believers as living "in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit." This should be the experience of every believer.
Another way in which the Holy Spirit ministers to believers is through intercession. When Jesus promised the coming of the Holy Spirit, He described Him as the Advocate and Helper. In a very practical and encouraging fulfilment of that role, the Holy Spirit intercedes for believers before the Father (Romans 8:26–27).
Most Christians have experienced times when they did not know how to pray. What a great comfort it is to know that there is always One who knows exactly how to pray on our behalf.
The spirit knows the will of God and prays in accord to that will .To agree with such prayer takes submission and faith .We might not know the will of God but our spirit knows and that's enough. The Holy Spirit who resides in believers intercedes and leads in accord with God's Will.
