Just as the Holy Spirit gives diverse gifts and functions for the edification of the Church, so the fruit of the Spirit shapes and develops saints personally.This has an impact on fruitfulness on the body of Christ.The fruit of the Spirit refers to the Godly qualities that the Holy Spirit produces in our lives—qualities that honour God and that we could never produce by our own efforts because of our sinful nature.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
( Galatians 5:22&23)
As we study the Scriptures, we are filled with hope, joy, and peace, even amid life's turbulence. These fruits are produced not automatically but progressively as we study the Scriptures developing an intimate relationship with God. Among the fruit of the Spirit, the quality that Christ emphasised most is love. Love fosters peaceful coexistence among the saints.
In John 15:8, Jesus states: "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples." (John 15:8, KJV).This aspect of fruitfulness is enhanced as we faithfully carry out our responsibilities, putting our spiritual gifts to use,especially love, encouragement, and hope.As these qualities are demonstrated in our service, they strengthen and build up the body of Christ, while also bearing more fruit by bringing souls into the Kingdom of God.
"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." (John 15:5, KJV).
In the above passage, when we abide in the Word, not for salvation but in fellowship for sanctification, we bear much fruit both personally and for the Kingdom.
